Daybreak Mist captures the quiet transition between night and morning as an egret stands in the river while the fog begins to clear. I was drawn to the soft atmosphere and the way the bird seemed to emerge gradually from the mist, becoming part of the landscape rather than simply sitting within it. The muted color, softened edges, and restrained detail allow the light and atmosphere to carry much of the painting. By keeping the composition simple, I wanted the stillness of the moment to remain intact—the cool air, the quiet water, and the solitary egret holding its place as the day begins
