Painted from my own reference photos and observations in Alaska, I See You portrays the unforgettable moment when a mother bear rose to her full height to assess our presence. Her protective stance was not aggressive, but instinctive—an awe-inspiring reminder of her role as guardian of her young. Witnessing her in that raw, natural moment stirred something deep within me: excitement, reverence, and an overwhelming sense of connection. Through brush and paint, I sought to honor that emotional encounter, allowing viewers to feel the intensity and wonder of being seen by such a powerful creature in her own world.
